Joseph Francis Blanchet, 91, of St Cloud, FL, passed away peacefully with his family surrounding him on Tuesday, November 8, 2022. He is survived by his loving wife, Lilianne (Marcotte) Blanchet of 65 years. Born in Woonsocket, RI he was the son of the late Eugene and Marie Louise Blanchet. He was predeceased by 5 sisters and 6 brothers. He raised his family in Central Falls and later retired in Florida.
He was proud to have served in the US Air Force for 4 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a former member of the Pawtucket Elks Lodge. He was a carpenter by trade and a jack of all trades. He enjoyed doing projects around the house, as well as going to the casinos. He enjoyed telling stories, was an avid card player and he loved making puzzles.
He is survived by his 7 children Jacqueline Marcotte of Warwick, Richard and Sally Blanchet of Palm Bay FL, Paul and Rebecca Blanchet of Lincoln, Raymond and Dawn D’Alessio of North Smithfield, Rachel and Keith Doyon, Pauline and John Tougas, and Jeannine and Michael Bourski all of Pawtucket. He was a loving grandfather to 15 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren with 2 more arriving within the next few months.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Sunday, November 13, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. at the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln. A Mass of Christian Burial will celebrated on Monday November 14th at 10:00 AM in St Teresa’s Church, 358 Newport Avenue, Pawtucket. Burial with military honors will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Little Sisters of the Poor, 964 Main Street, Pawtucket, RI 02860 would be greatly appreciated.
